A Jazzy interior lounge portrait, complete with comfy slippers, as well as a newspaper for your reading pleasure.
Of course, you may not want to read the paper these days, considering just how badly the current Big "C" conservative government is running (ruining) our country and our democracy.
Yes, that's right, folks, and I do mean "right". We've got a right winged ideologically minded government with control freak, Stephen Harper calling all the shots.
You may know him by his nick-name, "Little Bush". Sad, but true. Karl Rove is seemingly now on the payroll, so to speak, who, by the way, incidently, was in Toronto during the G20 summit. Isn't that strange? He likely set about getting all those blackshirt people out on Yonge street to smash all those windows. Wouldn't suprise me one bit.
Back to Harper... he even had the word "equal" struck from the Status of Women's act, and of course, call me biased, but seems he doesn't like women or artists either. Sadly, it seems that Fascism is alive and well in Canada, for now at least.
Some Examples...
~Suppression of the press, won't answer media questions, but loves those photo ops.
~Taking away women's rights. Deliberatley struck the word "equality" from the Canadian Status of Women's Act.
~Prorogation of Parliament, (twice). Once to avoid a vote of non-confidence from the opposition, and once to avoid questions about Afghan detainees and this government's coverup. Shameful at best.
-Handing over individual's copyright interests to corporate interests.
~ Ruining the reputation of our world wide esteemed Census process so he can discount, marginalize and ignore certain minorities, advocate groups & the poor.
~ General antipathy and disdain towards the Canadian people, i.e: his constiuents, or, the people who pay him to do his job. Unseat Harper.
-Spending billions of dollars of taxpayers money on a 3 day meeting for his own egocentricity.
-Suspending human rights and Civil Liberties. Creating a police state during that meeting. (G20 summit)
~Detaining people without due process of law. 900 arrests.
-Want to spend billions of taxpayers dollars on new prisons when the crime rate has actually gone down!! (WTF???)
Well, the list just goes on and on...
I imagine they know that their time as the ruling party will be over when the next election is called, and are having their fun with power while they can, because they'll be back to being a very small opposition party once that happens and it'll be a long time before Canadians forget the damage they've done to our great country.
So, this painting is called "After The Party", because when election time comes, and these self serving "Con" artists are sent packing from Ottawa, at least 3 quarters of Canadians will have reason to celebrate.
