Jazz Tempo - Musical Movement on Canvas

As an artist, I love those prolific periods. I paint best at night, when my family is asleep, all is quiet indoors and outside, too.
The last few nights I've pulled all nighters, which means essentially that I've turned my days into nights. Well, it is a holiday, so I can take advantage of that! When my son goes back to school in another week, I'll have to suffer the consequences of lack of sleep when we get back to a normal routine.
But, in the meantime, the images, and hence the paintings, are pouring forth. Believe me, I've experienced great creative droughts before, so I'm ever so grateful for times like this, and intend to take advantage of every minute of it. I'm learning to listen to the muse! So, here's the latest one. A Jazz sketch out of my head. Courtesy of some excellent music I've been listening to. More fodder for painting.

Painting with Music . Onstage now @ Wall Flower Studio

Another Jazz piece. Very pleased with the way it turned out, and quite like the movement and perspective.

This painting is an ode to all the Jazz musicians that I would have liked to have seen perform live, in person, except that didn't happen because I was born too late! ; )

Well, back to the studio for me. Music's on. Coffee is hot.

Enjoy, and, thanks for visiting.

Abstract Jazz . Musicians visualized on canvas

Jazz, Swing, plus some good old Rythym and Blues, these boys can play it all.
Old standards to delight the senses, some modern fusion Jazz to mix things up a bit, along with everything in between.
.
Those lights must be hot up there on stage, but these guys take it all in stride.

A Jazzy Whimsical Interior featuring a Pool Table, and more, on Canvas

Detail of the Left side

Detail of the Right side

Full frontal view ; )
.
Well, it's kind of hard to tell just how large this painting is.
Five and a half feet long, by Three feet tall.
.
Please feel free to click each picture for a larger view.
.
The largest one to date that I've ever painted on canvas, with the exception of murals.
Now that it's completed and downstairs waiting to picked up, my studio space actually seems large for once!
.
This is a commission for a wonderful couple who have purchased my work before. They had a billiard room added to their home, and asked me to paint something of that nature for the new space. Hoping they like it! Fingers crossed!

Friday Kitsch - Owls on canvas

Hoot, Hoot! - A little Friday Kitsch
Just felt like painting something totally absurd! Thinking this fits the bill. But it was kind of fun!

In the studio and back to the Jazz paintings now...

Colourful Owls x 4. Kind of poking fun at Andy Worhal, from a northern woods point of view.
