There are times as an artist, where I'm really pleased with the way a painting turns out. But, let's face it, I don't post paintings here that I think are crap, and believe me when I say that I've created my share of those, but this painting in particular I was really happy with. It just seemed to me when studying it, these musicians were really seem to be in the groove, looking very intent, focused, and in the present, creating good Jazz sounds.
I was listening to some Sinatra at the time, playing "Mack The Knife" a few times in a row because it was the influence really, for this canvas. I just love it when Sinatra introduces all the guys in the band during that song. It always seemed to me to be such a classy thing to do! Anyhow, this was an interpretation of that.
